Carved by the decendants of Zulu Impis (warriors) called Matabele from the High Lands of Central Africa near the modern city of Bulawayo. The wood comes from the Cambretum tree which is similar to the Sequoia of Northern California. This carving is stunning in size and appearance. A most realistic work of art denoting a lot of talent and power of expression. I named this carving BWANA MAKUBA - THE BIG CHIEF. Size: 35 inches High 12 x 10 inches at the base.
